Though there are many ethnic groups in Adamawa, but Fulani is the most prevalent tribe. Others groups in the state include Dong, Gengle, Kumba, Mumuye, Nyong, Chamba Daka, Teme, Yendang, and other variants. In respect to religion, Adamawa state has a rational number of Muslims and Christians, but Islam is the leading religion in the state.
The major occupation of the people in the state is farming as reflected in the state crop produce. The major cash crops in the state are cotton and groundnuts while food crops include maize, yam, cassava, guinea corn, millet and rice.
